Wrinkle Relaxation

Wrinkle relaxation

Wrinkle relaxing injections are a safe treatment for wrinkles.

Smiling, frowning, squinting and even chewing – any facial movement can eventually lead to one of the most common signs of ageing: wrinkles. Lines can make you appear tired or even angry when you are not. Wrinkle relaxation injections are one of the quickest and safest remedies to remove wrinkles and rejuvenate the face. Wrinkle relaxation treatments can be used to smooth:

  • Frown lines
  • Crows feet
  • Forehead furrows
  • Skin bands on the neck
  • Smokers’ lines around the lips

How does it work?

Injections of wrinkle relaxation substances block muscular nerve signals, which then weakens the muscle so that it can’t contract and diminishes your unwanted facial wrinkles. These treatments can be combined with other cosmetic skin procedures such as chemical peels, dermal fillers or microdermabrasion to further improve your results. This combination of therapies can even help to prevent the formation of new lines and wrinkles.

How long does wrinkle relaxation injections last?

Successful treatment is signalled by muscle weakness that begins at 24 to 48 hours after injection with a peaking weakness at 7-14 days. The effects of the initial dose lasts between 4 and 7 months for most patients.

Re-injection is suggested every 3 to 4 months to keep the effects and allow the furrows to smooth out completely. Once the area is smooth, patients are advised to return for treatments only when they notice a return of muscle movement. This may not occur for four months to one year.
