Research

Ms Tzafetta has acquired a Master’s Degree on Wound Healing following her two-year full-time research at the University of Bradford. She appreciates research as a tool of advancing Medicine and promoting surgical innovation. She has collaborated with Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford where she has hosted scientific meetings and anatomy dissection courses.

During her fellowship in Norfolk, Virginia, USA, Ms Tzafetta was awarded a grant from the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation (PSEF) in the USA.  This funding allowed her to undertake laboratory and clinical research on facial paralysis and the facial nerve. The results of her work were published in the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (PRS). The insights gained during this research meant that Ms Tzafetta was asked to co-author a chapter on facial reanimation in the textbook PLASTIC SURGERY: Indications and Practice (Elsevier).

Conferences and Speaking

An accomplished speaker, Ms Tzafetta is regularly invited to talk at conferences and other events, sharing her expertise in several areas including facial paralysis, facial reconstruction and facial aesthetic surgery.

She has been a member of national and international faculties in numerous conferences and courses around the world as an expert on her field. She has authored several book chapters and peer reviewed publications at scientific journals.
